Kerala continues to lead the race in offering quality education for all. As a first-of-its-kind scheme in the country, at least 10,000 lower and upper primary Government and aided schools in Kerala are going hi-tech and will start getting internet facilities from November 1.
The ‘IT@School Project’ aims to cover all the government-run schools in the state with high-speed broadband internet connections to be provided by the government telecom provider BSNL. This is an ambitious project and if implemented properly will work wonders for the teachers and students. The initial plan is to offer a 2Mbps speed internet connection for all the schools.
Imagine an inter-connected learning platform that allows students and teachers in different parts of the state to communicate and interact. The possibilities for learning are endless. If this model works out well, we are sure other states across the country will look to replicate the model.
